Mopeds are back in style!
Without a doubt, mopeds are quite enjoyable to ride. They have existed for many of years and were particularly popular during the 1970s. For some reason, they dropped in popularity in the years afterwards. But, now that gas prices are getting rather high, in addition to people wanting to find a more environmentally friendly mode of transport, mopeds are gradually becoming popular again.
People ride mopeds for numerous reasons, either riding to work, riding around town to do various errands, or just for fun. These great little contraptions can get more than a hundred miles to the gallon, and this can’t be equalled by any of the new hybrid automobiles on the market today. One of the things they are great for is in traffic jams in the city. In many overseas countries, this makes mopeds even more popular, as the size of traffic they have is greater than what is found in Australia. For example, mopeds are very popular in Viet Nam. Despite the great amount of traffic they have there, people riding mopeds can zip in and out of traffic. There are numerous advantages that mopeds have over automobiles. As an example, they can weave into in places that cars cannot, such as parking them in places too tight for cars. You can even park them on sidewalks. Some of the smaller models can even be parked and locked in bicycle racks!
Mopeds come in many different designs, shapes and sizes. You can even customise the color as well! The earliest mopeds had pedals as well as an engine. Today, there are a number of models that are deemed to be mopeds, but don’t have pedals. These models can look very sporty and bear little resemblance to the ugly early models! They are also lighter as well, as much of the body is made with plastic and fibreglass. This means they can be designed into the much more sporty models seen today. There are also additional choices with storage options on mopeds as well. It is also heaps cheaper to buy moped insurance also!
If you have not decided whether or not to buy a moped, you really should do it. Besides not being affected by traffic congestion, you can also save yourself a lot of money on petrol!
